THENEURON is engaged in a continuous process of compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016. With this new regulation THENEURON reinforces its policy of protecting personal data so that our users‘ data are collected and used in a transparent manner confidential and secure.

Our Privacy Policy describes how THENEURON processes the personal data of visitors and members (hereinafter the „Members“) when browsing our website www.theneuron.org (hereinafter the “ Site „). The Privacy Policy is an integral part of the Terms of Use of the Site.

 THENEURON is always paying attention to the data of our members. We may therefore have to modify, supplement or periodically update the personal data protection policy. We will also be able to make the necessary changes to comply with the changes in the legislation and regulations in force. Whenever possible, we will notify you of any significant changes. However, we encourage you to check regularly the latest version in effect, available on our site.

What personal data are collected and for which purposes?

When you use our platform and / or when you register, we collect and process personal data about you such as: your first and last names.

We will also ask you to send us your email address to use this data for the creation of an account, the sending of emails of information and notifications, as well as for the newsletter.

We also collect your username, avatar, mailing address, genre, phone number, IP address, and some information available on your social networks. We will also ask you to send us a mini-biography or a biography. A photo is also requested to identify you during the defenses.

In addition, in order to fulfill our legal obligations, we ask our mentors to provide us with an official ID (such as passport, identity card, driver’s license), criminal record check, biography or link to their name. LinkedIn page and last diploma obtained.

THENEURON uses Learning Analytics methods to analyze courses taken, exercises, completed chapters, courses and projects. We use this data for analysis and display. This data is used for a variety of purposes, including collecting your user experience and tracking your progress, setting up tracking and statistics based on your motivation.

This data collected from the Learning Analytics methods will also be used for the analysis of the Student Success service (progression, monitoring, statistics), to offer you courses and relevant and adapted courses and finally for the purposes of research within the framework of different projects.

When you send us your details, we may contact you by phone and ask you for information about your career plan, your preferred course, qualification votes, your financing preferences, your desire for long-term training, brakes compared to the proposed solution, the estimated start date, so depending on your situation the reason for the rejection. These data are used for registration, consultation, use, completion, retrieval and transmission to promote our students‘ pathways.

When you register on the platform, you can sign up with Facebook or your Google Account. If you connect to our services using the social networking features available to you and in particular Facebook, THENEURON will have access to certain data (including your Facebook public profile, date of birth and email address) of your account on said social network in accordance with the general conditions of use of the social network concerned. We may also collect some of your personal information when you interact with features of these social networks, such as „Like“ features.

When you apply for an alternating course on our platform, we will ask you to send us some of your data, including: your current CV, a paragraph describing your motivation, your current situation described in the form of a video, an authorization to work on the French territory, the training you want to perform, your level of studies at the beginning of the training, the title of the last diploma obtained, your status at the beginning of the training as well as your objectives to carry out the training, the name of the company found for alternation, the desired training as well as comments from you. We will use this information for the collection, registration, consultation, use and completion of our courses.

At the end of your degree course, for statistical purposes, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire asking you for some of your data and in particular the title of your position, the name of your employer and your salary.

As part of satisfaction surveys, we can use a customer satisfaction measurement tool (Net Promoter Score & System). You will be asked via this tool to write an opinion on the training followed with THENEURON.

Why do we use cookies?

Definition of „cookie“ and its use. A „cookie“ is a text file deposited on your computer when visiting our platform. In your computer, cookies are managed by your internet browser.

We use cookies on our Site for the purposes of your browsing, optimization and customization of our Services on our platform by remembering your preferences. Cookies also allow us to see how our platform is used. We automatically collect your IP address and information about the use of our Site. Our platform can remember your identity when a connection has been established between the server and the web browser. Information previously provided in a web form can be stored.

Is your data shared with third parties?

Your personal data collected on our platform are intended for own use by THENEURON and may be transmitted to subcontractors to which THENEURON may call in the performance of its services.

THENEURON does not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes, in any case.

We also work closely with third-party companies who may have access to your personal data, in particular:

      • When you make the express request (for example when you use the authentication methods provided by social networks allowing you to integrate in your profile THENEURON information from your account on their own platform;
      • When we use search engine providers and analytics solutions to improve and optimize our platform;
      • Where we have the legal obligation to do so or if we believe in good faith that this is necessary to (i) respond to any claim against THENEURON, (ii) comply with any judicial request, (iii) execute any contract concluded with our members, such as the General Conditions of Use and this Privacy Policy (iv) in case of emergency involving public health or the physical integrity of a person, ( v) as part of investigations and investigations or (vi) to guarantee the rights, property and safety of THENEURON, its members and more generally any third party;

We may aggregate data that concerns you and that we receive or send to our business partners, including all or part of your personal data and information collected through cookies. This aggregated information will only be used for the purposes described above.

On simple request, we can provide you with the list of countries where we store your data and those where they pass occasionally.

We keep your data in the European Union but we also transfer it outside the European Union to the United States. The US entities to which we are transferring your data have joined the Privacy Shield or we have entered into specific contracts with them and standard contractual clauses established by the European Commission to regulate and secure the transfer of your data to these service providers. We may use the services of US companies to which we outsource your data to respond to your requests, provide online payment tools, provide us with commercial and advertising services or email and SMS services.

How are your personal data protected?

THENEURON applies generally accepted technological and organizational security measures to ensure that personal data collected are not lost, diverted, accessed, modified or disclosed by unauthorized third parties unless the communication of such data is required by the regulations in force, particularly at the request of a judicial authority, police, gendarmerie or any other authority authorized by law.

What is the retention period for personal data of THENEURON users?

Personal data communicated by THENEURON Users will be deleted at the end of a certain period and according to the data processed.

In order to allow members to recover their account in case of forgotten password after an extended period without connection to the Site, your e-mail is kept for security. It is still possible to delete it by changing the information in his profile on the „My Account“ section of the site.
 

We keep your data only the time necessary for the purposes pursued, in accordance with the legal requirements, and in particular:

      • Login and profile data:
        • 5 years after your last use of our platform, if you have not closed your account;
        • In the event that your account has been suspended or blocked, we keep your data for a period of 2 years from the suspension in order to avoid any circumvention by you of the rules in effect on our platform.

Are you a minor?

Since our goal is to make education accessible to everyone, minors can access the Site to search for information.

Our platform does not provide for the registration, collection or storage of information relating to anyone under 15 years of age.

What happens when using THENEURON services in connection with social networks?

We provide our students with a platform „Workplace“ that has been made available by Facebook allowing our students to share information for job search. Comments on Workplace are the property of THENEURON, we have the possibility to modify, delete or export them at any time.

What are your rights?

In accordance with the regulations in force Users of our platform have the following rights:

      • right of access and rectification;
      • update, completeness of member data;
      • right to block or delete data of personal members, when they are inaccurate, incomplete, equivocal, out of date, or whose collection, use, disclosure or retention is prohibited;
      • right to withdraw consent at any time;
      • right to limit the processing of members‘ data;
      • right of opposition to the processing of personal data;
      •  the right to portability of data provided by members, where such data is subject to automated processing based on their consent or contract.

Your queries will be processed within one month. In case of reasonable doubt about your identity we may request that we be provided with additional information necessary to confirm your identity.
